Results of the phase III INTEREST study

The results of the phase III INTEREST (IRESSA Non-small-cell lung cancer Trial Evaluating REsponse and Survival against Taxotere) trial were presented at the 12th World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in Korea on September 5th 2007.

This large international study (n=1466) met its primary objective and demonstrated equivalent survival for IRESSA (gefitinib) and docetaxel in patients with pre-treated advanced NSCLC. In addition, IRESSA had a more favourable tolerability profile than docetaxel and significantly more patients treated with IRESSA experienced clinically important improvements in quality of life compared with patients who received docetaxel.
